Welcome to Salpeterkrans...
Nestled in the heart of the Mpumalanga Highlands north of Dullstroom, the Draaikraal Valley harbours the "Forgotten River" and the Salpeterkrans FLy Fishing Estate for you to discover.
Here on Salpeterkrans you will find a haven for those who seek the peace and tranquility of a meandering river on your doorstep.
Only two-an-a-half hours from Gauteng and some 40km north of Dullstroom, close to De Berg (2331m), the highest peak in the province lies this magnificent valley, where fly fishing and adventure activities are the order of the day.
The Salpeterkrans Fly fishing Estate provides challenging fly fishing in more than 10km of the Klip River, where wild rainbow and brown trout abound and test the skilled flyfisher. Salpeterkrans is more than 2000 ha and the perfect getaway for the stressed city dweller who wants to get away from it all.
Accommodation facilities consist of four luxury lodges, all within walking distance of the Klip River, as well as an adventure camp area where up 200 children and 20 staff can be accommodated.
Salpeterkrans is easily accessible with sedan cars, but a 4x4 route exists on a newly aquired piece of land. Drivers should, however enquire about conditions beforehand, especially in the rainy season.
